Was the government loyal when they fired 300, 000 last year via DOGE? Don't get caught up in office politics and the bosses vision about work place allegiance. Do your job well. You owe them nothing more than that. If you want to stay because you like where you work then fine. If you want to leave for more money - to an environment you are unfamiliar- so be it. If you are going to render a personal service you have to expect people to disclose personal information. You are a capitive audience and they clearly... feel comfortable disclosing that type of info. Think about it , you are literally in their heads, maipulating their scalp putting them at ease. Naturally your clients are going to feel comfortable enough to tell you personal things. Just listen or act like youre listening, they wont really now the differnece. Most people dont want answers( in that situation) they just want someone to listen. Make joke of it, " Can I charge a little extra for the therapy session?" and keep it moving.
