  • My manager keeps hinting that I'll be promoted if I stay loyal. Another company has offered me a much higher salary. Do I risk losing both opportunities?

What does loyality mean to your boss. And what does that have to do with your work performance? Was the word loyalty a part of the job description and... are promotions contingent upon your"loyality"? Its not your job to be loyal. You are responsible for doing your job not being loyal. Was the government loyal when they fired 300, 000 last year via DOGE? Don't get caught up in office politics and the bosses vision about work place allegiance. Do your job well. You owe them nothing more than that. If you want to stay because you like where you work then fine. If you want to leave for more money - to an environment you are unfamiliar- so be it. The choice is yours not your bosses based on his/her interpretation of company loyality! more
