In our company only men get promoted and raises. It’s much easier for them - work for a year and they already manage a couple of people. I’ve been working hard for four years and nothing happens for me. My boss says women are unreliable, that I’ll probably get married and go on maternity leave. Men, he says, are fine. So I get a lot of work but no raise.
Should I try talking to him seriously again or should I leave since there’s no future here?

Leave. Now. Believe people when they tell you who they are.

  • I hope you have more evidence than your word. This seems like a story from the 70s with the way you worded it. If this is true, find a new job and if... you have proof, sue them.  more

  • This is illegal per Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. You and all female employees should write down in a journal all of these infractions as... they happen and then file a complaint to the BBB (Better Business bureau) or with the labor department. A lawsuit could ensure your job hunt has enough runway to land one that isn't breaking laws.💰

  • Just leave and find yourself something of your worth. At the end society is bias when it comes to women

  • That chauvanist oinker isn't going to be able to lie you out of another/better job. Apply somewhere else and use him for a reference.

  • Start looking elsewhere . When you have secured a new position contact the Dept of Labor. Then have a consultation with a Labor lawyer.

  • Go to HR and let them know the kind of sexist, antiquated ,moronic so called leadership that's managing the company. Look for another job then quit!... You've probably trained half of the "boys" who've been promoted over the years. Eveybody knows its women who are loyal. The guys leave as soon as they get a better offer with more money. more
