About

I am an experienced business professional with 30-plus years in combined technology (systems), management, sales, recruiting and training arenas. My strength in FLC recruiting has been on I.T. and Engineering recruiting for DoD, Aerospace, Automotive as well as F-100 organizations. Clients included Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, BAE, Orbital, L-3 Communications, Honda NA, Toyota NA, AARP, to name a few on the technology side. My recent, nine-year experience with FedEx Ground regionally, was at an SME management level, performing a variety of training, auditing and monitoring of contract compliance issues. Recruiting on seasonal needs locally, regionally, and nationally was also a key factor to FedEx Grounds success during its peak seasons via trade shows, recruiting events and community outreach. I have excellent command of the English language and can also support conversations in Spanish. as I have moved up the ranks via challenging work, quality personal development training (technical, sales, processes, leadership) and maintaining a positive Respect for the Individual” message. Though I did not complete college, my experience and training has afforded me the opportunity to wear a variety of senior level hats, for which I have received awards and have led many teams to success within their respective areas of expertise. I am a firm believer of “promoting leadership” regardless of any titles my associates may hold at any given moment. I am available for immediate Contract or Permanent assignments. • I just got back from a job interview and have mixed feelings. They kept trying to confuse me and make me feel bad. At the start, they asked me to tell them about myself. I began talking about my...

As an HR professional myself, I have issues with your explanation of how this interview went. From what you have written and what I have interpreted,... you missed the point of the interview. As a professional, you should leave your feelings with your feelings and lean on facts as well as sharing those facts with a business mindset.
They did not try to confuse you as you were already confused. By what, I do not know. Maybe attempting to figure out your interviewer instead of focusing on what is being asked of you. Don't worry, many do the same which if not realized quickly, can cause undue anxiety because the process of the interviewer's questioning does not match the visuals you have already, without reason, placed in your minds eye. Now you're stuck in that cycle of confusion.
You are not the first candidate to their rodeo, so the interviewer went through the motions, by the numbers and determined the result. My advice to you is learn from it and move forward. Finding work is a full time job in itself, but launching a career is life absorbing. When you fall, fall forward, get up and move out! leave the tears on the ground behind you.

  • Hello! We’re a small travel agency with a close team of women. Recently, a young guy was hired as a sales manager. But he has no basic knowledge, he doesn’t even know where China or South America are....

Stay out of it. I believe your concern may be not as genuine as you have explained. Maybe I'm wrong, but given the fact that this person was hired by... the owner who obviously has the know how to run his business, but not the foresight to promote from within, is it tough to bear? This young person may be or have special talents that the team are not privy to. Possibly even family ties. I am also troubled every time someone brings up an issue, starting a phrase "Team of Women/Men" and the subject is of the opposite sex. same issue if it was color, religion, etec. etc. etc. You expressed that the owner has already stated the reason why he hired this young man, knowing that he had some ramping up to do, which is what all of us have done to reach the levels required of us. Help him out as an example of what teams do. If he falls, help him fall forward. His test will be in getting back up or just staying down. At that point, your views can be aired with the owner.

  • There are five women in our department, but I always get all the difficult tasks. The others quickly tell the boss: “I don’t know how to do this” or “I’ve never done this before.” I usually can do it...

    Strategy!
Document every opportunity that this scenario occurs. Names, dates, projects, excuses heard and supervisor which said excuses were given... to.
Also document who else had to pick up the slack under the guise of team player responsibility, due to a co-worker’s claim of not being trained, lack of experience, or too busy to do their job.
Keep this journal to yourself and not let it slip out that you are covering your back.
If in fact, it is determined that these projects are deliberately being bypassed to you under false pretense, I would interpret that as hostile environment and have a sit down with HR, bypassing the supervisor who continues to enlist your time to help.
The issue here is determining if you are on point with your logic or you have submitted to your feelings. Those are two very different interpretations. Male or Female has no bearing on this situation. These are team members, and it is difficult to know what’s on their plate as well or even what skills they do or do not have. That’s personal information which team members should not be privy to.
I am no attorney, nor do I claim to be, I'm just saying.
