  • Why is it so hard to get your business up and running without the financial support????? I started my 501(c)(3) in 2019 and I'm still trying to get the website up and get some funding.

Because you have no history of working with a grant. Also your Board and how it is setup and who is on it is important. Also you need a person who has... relationships with the organization you are applying for. The Grantor depending on who it is has a liaison and when you have no relationship with them no chance. Also do you have the systems in place to receive a grant. People assume you just right a grant and you will receive money that is now it actually works. Also what measures do you have in place to show the statical data to show what you are doing is effective and it has to be what measurements are you using to show that you are effective what pre mid and post are you using to show that you are making effective change and this statical data has to be certified buy a PH.D or statistician. To many times non-profit of color do not realize what they actually have to do to receive money. I am talking from a personal level I have been blessed with $400,000 dollars for what I was doing in my community, but to get to the larger ones I had to grow and in terms of my ability to get better and make adjustments in my organization to go after the larger grants it takes a lot of things. You may need to have an advisor help you get everything in order to get the grants. Hope this helps you! more
