Duties and responsibilities

The Nutrition and Dietetics Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;


Preparing and implementing therapeutic diets for Patients.
Providing guidelines on therapeutic diets for management of existing and emerging diseases in health facilities, for home – based care and in other institutions.
Treating patients using specialized dietetic nutritionally modified products Implementing the nutrition and dietetic intervention process from screening to evaluation

Duties and Responsibilities


Maintain facility filing system for all patients with proper sorting, color coding, and separation.
Support KenyaEMR utilization for patient management in all departments

Tharaka Nithi County government in collaboration with Kenyatta University and the Economic Growth Center at Yale University are together seeking the expertise of a Project Manager for a project “Enhancing Women’s psychosocial wellbeing and child development through creche programme in Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya.”. The Project manager will be responsible for the... day-to-day running of the randomised control trial (RCT) field research project the project aims to design and test a model for an early childhood development curriculum targeted at 3- and 4-year olds, working in collaboration with Tharaka Nithi County, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, and with Principal Investigators from Bangor University, Kenyatta University, and Yale University
The terms of reference will be:

Developing the Tharaka Nithi County (TNC) government project implementation plan and scheduling of activities to support a randomized control trial (RCT) research project that will design, test and measure the impact of an innovative model for childcare provision that emphasizes child development and economic participation for women in a cost-effective manner.
Responsible for TNC project deliverables as per the implementation plan
Coordinate all project activities between the TNC government and research and intervention implementation teams at Kenyatta University (KU) and Yale University, keeping key stakeholders at TNC updated on project plans and ensuring TNC support of project activities that enable the project to follow required aspects of the specified RCT research design
Ensuring TNC support for adherence of activities to established project schedules, phases and research specifications.
Reporting to stakeholders and project partners from KU, and Yale on the progress of TNC engagement with the RCT intervention project.

Committed to the value of research to inform the effective design of education or other socially motivated interventions (direct experience with field research projects, including knowledge of randomized controlled trials, will be highly valued)
Available for the 2 years duration of the project (through June 2025)
A post graduate degree in early childhood education and development or a related degree will be an added advantage.

Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;

Duties and Responsibilities Duties
The duties Principal Electrical Engineer will entail: -

Design of electrical/Electronic engineering services in government buildings and construction works;

Duties and Responsibilities Duties

An officer at this level may be deployed as ahead of a unit at County headquarters or as a sub- county works officer or a County structural engineer.
The duties and responsibilities at the Sub-County level will include work in the specialized fields of engineering in one of the following areas of structural, civil and construction duties:
Designing, detailing and site supervision of structures in various materials and forms of construction;
Liaising with architects and other agencies on project development;
checking and monitoring projects designed by consulting engineers and control of engineers and structural assistants working in the specific;
supervising of structural, civil and Drainage works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers;
Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of Roads engineers on all technical aspects of the work;
Supervising structural and civil works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers;
Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of county structural engineers on al technical aspects of the work; and
Any other duty that maybe assigned from time to time

The Principal Physical Planner reports to the County Director of Physical Planning and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

Initiating, preparing and monitoring the implementation of county and local physical development plans;
Preparing action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates and recreational facilities;
Providing advice to government and private agencies on development proposals and plans;
Implementing and providing feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards;
Undertaking thematic regional studies on matters relating to physical planning;
Managing physical planning data;
Setting agenda and convening physical planning liaison committee meetings;
Keeping record of deliberations and communicating decisions of the physical planning liaison committees;

Duties and responsibilities

The Maxillofacial Surgeon will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;

Consulting with patients and analyzing patient data to determinepatient needs and treatment
Collaborating with other specialists, such as restorative dentistsand orthodontists, to plan management of patients
Recording patient care by maintaining detailed notes ofappointments with patients, including comments, tests and/ortreatments prescribed, tests and investigations required

Duties and responsibilities

The ENT Surgeon will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;

Performs professional duties of an Otorhinolaryngology including various ENT/ Head and Neck
Provides consultation to other physicians when the problems fall into the field of ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery, and require the attention of a specialist. This includes diagnosis and treatment of patient’s primary problems in this area.
Complete medical records promptly indicating diagnosis, treatment, and future courses of Records must conform to established requirements.
Participates in all group conferences requiring the viewpoint and opinions of this specialty regarding difficult medical conditions.
Collaborates with other departmental personnel in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.
Is responsible for the operation of approved curative-preventive programs as they relative to his particular area of specialization.
Monitors work of other assigned staff to the Otorhinolaryngology Service for quality, quantity, correctness, etc., demonstrating procedures or recommending additional training as need arises.
Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature
