Review & maintain a valid Balanced RCP (Material) at all levels for own Portfolio by exception focusing on material constraint &/or bottleneck resources & where there are defects (overloads, shortages, excess etc) requiring intervention or action.


Qualifications


Balancing Supply Plans
The Production Planner will work with the FF&P SCP to ensure that demands (phasing & volume) are accurately reflected in the planning system and that the demands represent the true needs of the market place. The planner will work with manufacturing to ensure that demands can be met as required. If the plans cannot be balanced, the Production Planner is responsible for developing, agreeing & executing supply alternatives.
The Production Planner will ensure the effective introduction of new SUs and bulks. This includes BOM, routings etc. using data provided by Asset Managers (Unit Superintendents). When a product is identified for deletion, the Planner will also make sure that products and components are completely consumed or reworked in timely and cost effective way. Ensuring principles of Product Life Cycle Management are applied.


Tactical Supply Plans


The FF&P Production Planner will, in conjunction with the FF&P Supply Chain Planner, Manufacturing and Vendor Scheduling, develop and execute Tactical Supply Plans describing how the supply chain will respond to market events and inherent variability. Works with Active ingredients Production Planner to ensure that the operational AI plans in are consistent with the local Tactical Supply Plans. During the season the Asset planner will take the lead in executing the Tactical Supply Plans and associated decision points.


IMC/BU interaction


The FF&P Production Planner will manage the short term changes in ex-works shipment dates and the impact on the IMC deliveries by working closely with Order Management, Customer Service and IMC planning. SUCAP delay tool will be used where appropriate.

Fertigation and Climate Management


In consultation with the production manager, prepare daily feeding program, considering the crop species, crop developing stage, the feeding report of the previous days, and the prevailing climatic condition. Make sure that only approved fertilizer recipe is used.
Strictly supervise and ensure that fertilizer salts/elements are accurately measured and properly mixed in the correct stock tanks according to the instruction in the recipe.
Follow up and ensure that the programmed fertilizer solution EC, pH and volumes are realized in the field by measuring the drain and drip samples after every feeding.
Periodically (possibly daily) monitor the crop performance, identify any nutritional problem if any, and develop a sustainable mitigation measure if necessary.
Regularly monitor the nutrients values in the plant tissue by sending the tissue, drip solution and drain solution samples to any approved plant nutrients laboratory testing lab for analysis and in consultation with the production manager take the corrective measures whenever necessary.
Ensure smooth running of the pump houses by developing and strictly adhering to approved maintenance schedule for each equipment [UV, Chlorinators, Pipes, Mixers, Stock tanks, Water Silos, Filters, ECA water system, RO system].
Check and ensure the climate management system (Sigrow Climate Management System) is operating optimally and maintained accordingly.
Closely monitor the fertilizer stock levels and inform the production manager in case the quantity of any fertilizer falls below the required minimum.
Carry out a graphical analysis of sample results, compare with the ETCU samples and make a clear comparison to easily see deviations. Send the analysis results to all stake holders.
Share results of tank ratios and monitor the injector performance.

Coordinate timely making of bunkers, mixing of different media at the appropriate ratios, steaming (both on bed and bunkers) up to the correct temperatures and leaching the media as per the standards to meet planting deadlines.
Coordinate media potting activities & appropriate pots/bags arrangement depending on planting priorities, densities and the area availability as outlined in the planting maps.
Coordinate relocation of crops within the blocks in accordance with the location planning changes in time and without mixes or violating phytosanitary rules.
Support in preparation of all production labor requirements for optimal staffing purposes.
Follows up on labor hours registration and inputs into the system for decision making.
Prepare periodic and ad hoc labor reports and disseminates to the relevant stakeholders.
Analyze the efficiency of operations activities including PRP by collecting data from work done and comparing with the given targets for decision making including seasonal hiring and re-hiring.
Support in preparation of yearly leave plan schedule for entire production teams and submit to HR for implementation.
Conduct performance appraisal for all production teams. In liaison with other production section heads, identify areas of improvement for personal development.
Assess operations team training needs and arrange for such trainings. The trainings should aim at enhancing productivity, increased levels of engagement and efficiency.
Operational control: - Ensure all operational works follow Phyto-sanitary laid down guidance/protocols to secure cutting quality.
Coordinate PPE ordering and issuing to avoid unnecessary purchases, misuse, and wastage. Additionally, ensure all operational tools/equipment are always properly stored/handled.
Housekeeping – Maintain greenhouse and general farm cleanliness.
Work in harmony with the Engineering department to ensure all the work schedules and work interfaces are timely executed and assure good follow-ups
Enforce the Health Safety and Environment ( HSE) rules and regulations and champions the implementation of Syngenta HSE policy and standards.
Any other tasks and projects as may be allocated from time to time.

Role Purpose

To monitor and control crop nutrition process, greenhouse climate and water treatment for use in the farm.

Key Responsibilities


Supports in location planning to ensure that each variety in the production assortment has the M2 needed, appropriate day length, Growing media, certification levels and climatic conditions to meet the production focus (planning as per the... specified growing requirements).
Ensures sterilization of irrigation water as per the protocols to achieve set standards.
Samples the different input and drain solutions in different crop stages for analysis by an accredited laboratory.
Corrects the recipe formulations as per lab analysis and visual crop observation to deliver a well-balanced crop for quality cuttings production (consultation required).
Ensures timely requisition and mixing of fertilizer
Ensures timely dosing of various fertilizer solutions (recipes) to achieve the desired target pH/EC.
Monitors irrigation of the crops in the greenhouses to ensure it is done with the appropriate right recipe specifications and with prevailing weather conditions in mind.
Ensures that all Fertigation machines and equipment including drip lines are in good working conditions and promptly reports any malfunction for repair.
Supports the production team on matters regarding water management to achieve a healthy crop throughout the season.
Facilitates plant treatment through drips (drenching) in liaison with crop protection supervisor.
Ensures all irrigation related data is collected, tabulated, analyzed, and presented on time and actions taken to achieve a healthy crop throughout the season.
Ensures supervisors on duty are aware and coached and assisted on fertigation processes including trouble shooting and reporting when on weekend and Holiday duty for effective running of operations in the Fertigation station.
Ensures all the vendors and service providers are guided while working in the Fertigation for compliance and communicating to the relevant personnel on the progress.
Monitors all the greenhouse vents and irrigation machines and valves to ensure they are in good working condition.
Ensures all equipment and structures are serviced regularly and records kept accordingly (liaison with production Lead - Growing and Engineering team)
Ensures all climate sensors (Example: Data loggers/ Sigrows etc.) are downloaded and data analyzed, disseminated and maintained for decision making.
Maintains and updates all Fertigation documents and prepares Necessary/required reports for decision making and compliance.
Ensures adherence to Phytosanitary standards in all Fertigation processes to control pathogens.
Ensures all Quality Management Systems(QMS) documents concerned with irrigation are reviewed at least annually as per the document to capture any process changes.
Trains the Fertigation team to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Train the fertigation section representative and monitor performance.
Set targets for the team and evaluate the day today performance
Evaluates Fertigation team to measure performance and identify areas of improvement.
 Enforces Health Safety and Environment (HSE) rules and regulations and champions the implementation of the Syngenta HSE policy in all business operations.
