Hi!
When I started the job, there were three of us in the department. After three months, two people quit, and now I’m doing all the work alone.
I can’t do the work of three people in just 8 hours a day. There’s too much to do, and it’s getting really hard.
Management hasn’t hired anyone new yet. They also haven’t increased my salary or given me any bonuses.
Now I’m thinking, should I quit too or wait and hope someone new joins? I’m very tired.

  • Cry me a river, you poor victim. You can leave, can you? Instead, be happy! Now you're indispensable, which is job security for you. Now next year you... can demand higher wages. Keep a list. more

  • Hello,
I need a job, can you connect me to be a nanny?.

  • That is an indirect promotion keep going

  • Start looking and do what is in your capacity. Document well. Management is well aware of the workload and distribution of such. Asking for hire... pay will most likely come with a new job title requiring you to do the work of three people or a lead role requiring you to ensure the work of three people. Either scenario will lead to burnout and a fried out job search. No harm in looking and vetting a new employer more

  • Lots of really unhelpful comments. I don't think there is anything wrong with speaking to your manager about the situation. With the best will they've... not mind readers and unless you speak up, they won't know how you feel. They may be trying to recruit, they may be happy with the fact that they're paying one person to do the job of 3. Only by speaking up for yourself will the situation change. Good luck. more

  • Have you outlined your complaint and asked for better compensation and overtime pay to get more done or suggested that you are unable to do the job by... yourself and need help?
Learn what you can and take the knowledge with you. If you feel that you know better than management and can do a better job, then do it. Compete with your company by starting your own.
If you don't have the capacity to do that, then stop whining, and be happy that you have lots of work, as others seem to be struggling to find a well-paying job that pays their bills.
When I started working for a chain restaurant way back in 1990, I did the work that 2 people were doing over two 8 hour shifts in less than 4 hours. I just knew how to do the job faster and better than the staff that were there. They didn't last long.
In less than a year I was running the place. I increased revenue by 250% and then I left to run my own business and watched as they ran that poor restaurant into the ground. That was the last job that I ever had, over 34 years ago.
Far too many people are complacent to work for others. All I see are people walking around with their heads down, staring at their phones. How can you see the opportunities of you aren't even aware of what is going on around you?

  • Aren't you the reason why the other two quit?

  • Many people are jobless!! Remember, you are doing another interview indirectly for a promotion or pay rise.

  • Hi, I would tell you that having more work is better than having no work and complaining of too much work is worse. Management is watching all that... you are doing! Discuss with them when such an opportunity arises. Thank you  more

  • As someone who is a director, talk to your management . Let them know your frustrations. If they do not hire you help or offer you a pay increase…find... another job! more

  • Engage with management on the issue and give them time to respond but don't over stay if your mental health gets threatened.

  • Quit. I’m in the exact same position right now. If the company thinks they can keep getting by just on overworking you, THEY WILL. You’re worth more.

  • I've learned if you take with you the experience and knowledge and seek out other employment, you are likely to receive a better wage. Remember to ask... for a high salary and you may receive just what you wanted. more
