Represent the M&E unit in internal and external coordination forums, including sectoral working groups and donor review meetings.
Foster collaborative relationships with implementing partners, donors, and TPM actors to promote harmonized M&E approaches.

Ensure adherence to PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) and safeguarding protocols.
Uphold DHCBI and donor compliance and ethics standards in all activities.


Requirements

Education & Certification


A Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Health, Computer Science, Agriculture, or related fields. A Master’s Degree or additional certifications in M&E, Statistics, or Project Management is a strong advantage.
NYSC discharge certificate is mandatory.


Experience


Minimum of 5–7 years of proven experience in M&E roles within humanitarian or development organizations, preferably in North-East Nigeria.
Demonstrated experience in designing M&E systems, tools, and databases for multi-sectoral programs.
Strong background in data management, analysis (using Excel, SPSS, KoboToolbox, Power BI, etc.), and reporting.


Skills & Competencies


Excellent knowledge of M&E methodologies including Results-Based Management (RBM), Logical Framework Analysis, and Theory of Change.
Ability to train and build the capacity of staff and partners.
Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Fluency in English and Hausa (both written and spoken); knowledge of other local languages is an asset.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles, gender equality, and inclusive programming.

General Description and Job Brief

The role involves actively engaging with community members, conducting sensitization sessions, supporting protection initiatives, and maintaining robust mechanisms for preventing and addressing exploitation and abuse.

The Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager/Gender and Protection Officer to ensure the effective implementation of gender-sensitive and protection-focused strategies, particularly in the context of the Early Recovery Project in Malakyariri.

Responsibilities

Program Implementation


Assist in integrating gender equality and protection principles into all project activities.
Facilitate gender and protection awareness sessions for community members and project stakeholders.
Support the establishment of safe spaces for women, children, and vulnerable groups within the community.
Conduct protection assessments to identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.


Community Engagement


Engage with community leaders, women’s groups, and other stakeholders to promote gender-sensitive and protection-focused programming.

Training and Capacity Building

The FSL Assistant will support project components, including rehabilitation of infrastructure, dry-season farming, livestock production, and financial inclusion activities, ensuring adherence to DHCBI and donor guidelines.

Responsibilities

Program Implementation


Assist in the execution of CfA/FFA activities, including targeting and mobilizing vulnerable households for participation.
Support the distribution of agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers, tools) and training on climate-smart agricultural practices.
Facilitate the distribution of livestock, feed, and veterinary support to beneficiaries.
Aid in the implementation of cash assistance programs, ensuring fair disbursement to eligible households.


Community Engagement


Actively engage community leaders, women, youth, and persons with disabilities to ensure inclusive participation in FSL activities.
