CEDO seeks applications from dynamic and innovative Ugandans for the position of  Agribusiness Incubation & Entrepreneurship Officer, to support CEDO’s Agribusiness  Innovation and Acceleration Initiatives (CABI) under the Tugende Tutandike Programme.  The position will be based at the CABI Hub in Masindi Municipality. The incumbent will  report directly to the Manager, Agribusiness Incubation,... and administratively to Head of  Programs.

Collaborate with the CABI team to develop the Hub growth plans and strategies.
Design and implement initiatives that enhance the skills of incubatees and frontline team (agribusiness advisors and mentors).
Develop and efficiently manage timelines, budgets, and resources of the Hub.
Develop quality reports and impact stories, and track key performance metrics and deliverables.

The Project Finance Officer shall be responsible for initiating the payment process.  His/her duty shall be to receive supporting documents for payments including Memos, Activity Concept Notes, Supplier Invoices, Supplier Statements for  Replenishment, and similar items. The job holder will also write payment requisitions  and payment vouchers; Initiate online payments and also post the approved... payments  into the Quickbooks; ensuring compliance with organization and donor requirements.

Receiving approved Memos, Concept notes and invoices from project staffs, and review all the payment requests for eligibility and allocability before processing.
Update variance analysis schedule to avoid overspending and underspending of charged budget lines. In case of intentions to overspend, authorization MUST be  sought prior to payment processing, with genuine reasons.
Write payment vouchers and Requisitions, attaching supporting documents on payment requisitions. These should be submitted to Finance Manager for review  and on time.
Uploading all reviewed project payments immediately into the online payment system, and/ or writing a Cheque. All payment advances MUST be booked into  the QuickBooks immediately.
Ensure project payroll management, including staff scheme contributions and payment of statutory deductions, is carried out with proficiency, approved and  processed in a timely manner.
Filling of project accountabilities for easy retrieval and maintaining the records in well-marked book shelves in the accounts department.
Maintaining the project asset register, with regular verified hard copies printed and filed for reference.
Supporting the Finance Manager during preparation of –and the Audit processes; including in responding to audit quarries and other financial reports reviews raised  by donors or donor representatives or the Board of Directors.
Providing pro-active advice to management to ensure optimal adherence to procurement and finance management procedures and policies.
Carrying out any other lawful duty allocated by a supervisor.

CEDO Uganda is seeking to hire a competent ME&L Officer, a member of the  Program Development and Mobilization Unit (PDM). The successful candidate will provide  technical assistance in: general program monitoring and evaluation; developing indicators for  monitoring program performance; developing and maintaining CEDO’s Performance Management  Plan and project-level monitoring and evaluation... plans; supporting project design; producing  annual reports on CEDO’s performance; and supporting CEDO to learn from and make decisions  based on monitoring and evaluation data.

Advise Program Teams and Senior Management in designing and planning for evaluations, special studies and assessments.
Coordinate the creation and review of the Program, Design and Learning budget to provide adequate financial resources for evaluations, special studies and assessments.
Provide input into the design, implementation and dissemination of evaluations, special studies and assessments.
Coordinate the creation of the Performance Monitoring Plan including assessing the validity of the information and indicators that contribute to that plan.
Assist the Program Teams to select data collection methods for adequate monitoring and evaluation of the program as a whole (these methods may include field visits, quarterly reports, specialized surveys and other sources of information like Government statistics.  Assist the Program Teams in reviewing these methods and making improvements to their  monitoring and evaluation.
Coordinate the regular review of progress towards achieving Program Objectives by Senior Management through program reviews, portfolio reviews or other processes.
Encourage the use of performance information in resource allocation decisions by the Team Leaders and Senior Management through leading discussions, preparing analysis or  other measures.
Seek ways to streamline the process and increase efficiency in gathering and using performance information.
Coordinate the process for updating policy and procedure documents in the areas of monitoring and evaluation. Seek ways to increase transparency of CEDO’s system of  reviewing results and use of performance information.
Contribute to the planning of new activities that support the desired results; this includes providing input into assessments, Project proposal documents, and Scopes of Work for new
Assist in monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of activities; this may involve reviewing work plans, quarterly reports, participating in field visits, initiating regular portfolio  reviews and contributing to program evaluations.
Work as a Point of Contact for Evaluation in CEDO and provide guidance to technical teams on issues related to monitoring and evaluation.

The Communications Officer is responsible for documentation and content gathering  in various formats including case studies, impact stories, donor reports, high quality  photo and video assets; and ensuring social media engagement across our digital  platforms for all projects. Oftentimes, you will be required to write case studies, press  releases, monitor media coverage, and support media field... visits. You will also  support the implementation of the advocacy and communications strategy to help  CEDO influence decision-makers to uphold the rights of children, as per our mandate. Collecting a minimum of two case studies per month that show the impact and success of CEDO’s programming. This includes interviewing beneficiaries  and writing impact stories.
Producing high quality photo and video assets and being able to package these for various audiences.
Support implementation of the social media strategy and content calendar across our digital platforms including updating the Website, LinkedIn, etc. Support media engagement through writing press releases, pitching stories to  the media, facilitating media visits and monitoring media stories.
Support event management, logistics of key project events ensuring high level of organization and the visibility of project activities and campaigns. Identify, update databases and media lists to ensure high visibility of the  organization, and its projects.
Track media exposure and weekly reporting of social media engagement Facilitate effective internal communications.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for day-to-day  administration of the Head Office activities and facilitating its efficient operation by  performing the following clerical and administrative tasks.

Oversee logistics at Head Office, including vehicle usage, taxi requisitions, publicity materials, training materials, travel advances for staff, trainers,  volunteers and other supplies,... and ensuring office equipment, facilities and  assets are maintained in accordance with CEDO’s policies and procedures;
Manage office transport system, track vehicle and motorbike expenses and highlight concerns.
Assist the Head Office staff with simple budgetary and accounting matters, including collecting timesheets, checking petty cash advances, requisitions and  accountabilities and, reconciliations before submission to the Accountant
Maintaining inventories register; and conduct unannounced inventories inspection to ensure all assets are available and maintained per schedule.
Ensuring assets are insured;
Generating reports on operations, maintenance and utilization of equipment, assets and facilities.
Liaise with finance to ensure funds are available before processing LPOs and with relevant departments to ensure Request for Purchases (RFPs) are  completed for timely procurement and delivery of project supplies.
Liaise with Human Resource on hiring and orientation of project staff.
Manage timesheet tracker per project and maintain leave schedules.
Organize and store paperwork, documents and computer-based information; archiving office files in line with the archive policy.
Coordinate Head Office meetings and take minutes.
Facilitate processing of travel requisitions by staff, partners and office guests.
Coordinate clearance of project(s) visitors and liaise with relevant departments for clearance, work permits, hotel reservations, ground transportation and  office space.
Keep Office keys of the Head office, Opening from Monday to Friday (7.30am till 5.00pm) of each working day and, ensure the office is kept clean, organized and tidy.
