ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Develop and execute a risk-based annual internal audit plan approved by the Board Audit Committee
Report audit findings, risk exposures and recommendations to the Board Audit Committee and senior leadership
Work closely with external auditors, regulators (eg, IRA, KRA) and internal stakeholders.
Lead special investigations, including fraud, misconduct,... operational lapses and recommends opportunities for improvement.
Continuously enhance internal audit methodologies, policies and tools in line with evolving risks and industry trends
Coordinate work with Risk & Compliance, Legal and Finance functions in conducting periodic risk assessments and putting in place controls to mitigate identified risks.


QUALIFICATIONS


University degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education
Master's degree preferably MBA will be an added advantage.
ACCA and/or CISA required
Must be a registered member of ICPAK and/or IIA
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is a strong advantage


EXPERIENCE


Minimum 10 years progressive audit experience with at least five (5) years in a senior managerial role preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
Experience with IRA audits, statutory compliance and audit committee reporting.
Experience in Financial Management Systems.
Proficiency in audit software systems, ERP and MS tools

University degree in Forensics Investigations / Criminology & Security Studies or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education.

Minimum four (4) years’ relevant experience in an established investigations practice
Experience in the insurance industry will be advantageous
Excellent knowledge and understanding of contemporary risk management principles, practices and reporting

Digital Assets Management

Track and update company website for current products, financials and news features. Work with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure the content is accurate
Manage social media handles for creative campaigns – working with Creative / Digital Agency
Uploading of photos from internal and external events on DAC socials
Reposting / sharing of relevant stories from social media pages of key partners on joint initiatives


Branded Merchandise management

Procurement of merchandise together with Procurement Team

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Manage and process all own damage (OD), third party property damage (TPPD) and Non Motor claims and make sure they are finalized with minimum delays and at the lowest market cost.
Follow up on progress of repairs of insured’s vehicles ensuring, all repairs are carried out professionally and in a cost effective manner. Ensure the company does not incur expenses... for damages not related to the accident.
Conduct claim review and ensure that the system data of the claims is always accurate
Detect and highlight fraudulent claims for investigations.
Make sure claims are fully documented and where applicable, the policy excess and/or any other payment is recovered in compliance with the policy terms and conditions.
Appoint Service Providers upon receipt of claim notification and claim documents review and to follow up on their reports within the agreed turnaround times.
Receive and critically analyze the service provider’s reports upon receipt and make recommendations thereof for approval within agreed timelines.
Liaise with service providers in the claims handling system to ensure that fast and efficient service standards are maintained as per the provisions of the service level agreement.
Confirm and process claims and service providers payments
Manage and maintain a record of all salvages due for disposal as per the company disposal policy.
Pursue on claim recoveries from third parties.
Continuous review of files for reserve adequacy and closure of inactive and or finalized claim files.
Respond to correspondences and any other communication within the agreed timelines.
Advise management on any adverse claim experience to assist in risk management and product review.
Provide claims and management reports as may be requested.
Attend to claims complaints within the agreed turn round times.
