Role Overview


Prestige Bluestar is seeking a highly professional, honest, and reliable Project Accountant / Cost Controller to manage financial flows across multiple luxury interior and construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise (CPA qualification) and a solid background in construction or project-based industries. This role ensures strict financial... discipline, accurate reporting, and proper use of funds to safeguard profitability and growth.


Key Responsibilities

Project Financial Management


Track all project-specific costs (materials, labor, subcontractors, transport, etc.) against approved budgets.
Prepare detailed weekly and monthly cost reports showing variances and cash flow status.
Ensure project funds are allocated properly and highlight overruns early.


Client & Supplier Payments


Monitor client deposits, stage payments, and balances; follow up promptly to ensure timely collections.
Manage supplier and subcontractor payments, reconciling against invoices and delivery.
Maintain clear records for both advances and retention amounts.


Cash Flow & Petty Cash


Oversee petty cash usage on sites, ensuring accountability and receipts for every expense.
Track inflows and outflows, ensuring sufficient cash flow for ongoing works.
Provide real-time updates to management on project liquidity.


Financial Systems & Compliance


Maintain proper accounting records in line with company standards.
Support tax and statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.).
Recommend cost control strategies to improve margins and efficiency.


Reporting & Oversight


Prepare concise weekly reports to management and detailed monthly summaries.
Work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager to align financial planning with project execution.
Uphold strict confidentiality and integrity in handling company and client financ⁠⁠⁠⁠e.


Qualifications


CPA (K) qualification is mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in construction, interior design, or project-based accounting.
Strong knowledge of project cost control, budgeting, and reconciliations.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems an added advantage).

Key Responsibilities

Quoting & Estimation:


Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for luxury interior finishing works.
Quantify and specify materials with precision, aligning with market rates and supplier networks.


Drawings & Measurements:


Conduct site visits, take precise measurements, and translate them into working drawings.
Coordinate with the design team to ensure accuracy and luxury-level detailing.


Project Supervision & Execution:


Supervise on-site works to ensure quality workmanship, timelines, and budget compliance.

Material Coordination:


Work hand-in-hand with the office admin to coordinate timely procurement and delivery of all required materials.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of works.
Client & Team Coordination:
Act as the technical liaison during site visits with clients, explaining finishing options and execution details.
Ensure seamless communication with the office, design team, and site workers.


Requirements


Minimum 4 years’ experience in luxury interior finishing (residential and/or commercial projects).
Strong background in quotation preparation, BoQ drafting, and material quantification.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or equivalent software for drawings.
Hands-on supervision experience with proven delivery of high-end finishes (gypsum ceilings, cabinetry, wardrobes, vanities, painting, tiling, etc.).
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
NCA registration or eligibility is an added advantage.

Front Office & Client Relations

Administration & Coordination

Qualifications & Skills


Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Accounting, or related field.
At least 1 year of front office or administrative experience (experience in the construction or interior design industry is a strong advantage).
Proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail), and invoicing tools.
Basic accounting knowledge is essential (bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations).
