Role Overview


Prestige Bluestar is seeking a highly professional, honest, and reliable Project Accountant / Cost Controller to manage financial flows across multiple luxury interior and construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise (CPA qualification) and a solid background in construction or project-based industries. This role ensures strict financial discipline, accurate reporting, and proper use of funds to safeguard profitability and growth.


Key Responsibilities

Project Financial Management


Track all project-specific costs (materials, labor, subcontractors, transport, etc.) against approved budgets.
Prepare detailed weekly and monthly cost reports showing variances and cash flow status.
Ensure project funds are allocated properly and highlight overruns early.


Client & Supplier Payments


Monitor client deposits, stage payments, and balances; follow up promptly to ensure timely collections.
Manage supplier and subcontractor payments, reconciling against invoices and delivery.
Maintain clear records for both advances and retention amounts.


Cash Flow & Petty Cash


Oversee petty cash usage on sites, ensuring accountability and receipts for every expense.
Track inflows and outflows, ensuring sufficient cash flow for ongoing works.
Provide real-time updates to management on project liquidity.


Financial Systems & Compliance


Maintain proper accounting records in line with company standards.
Support tax and statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.).
Recommend cost control strategies to improve margins and efficiency.


Reporting & Oversight


Prepare concise weekly reports to management and detailed monthly summaries.
Work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager to align financial planning with project execution.
Uphold strict confidentiality and integrity in handling company and client financ⁠⁠⁠⁠e.


Qualifications


CPA (K) qualification is mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in construction, interior design, or project-based accounting.
Strong knowledge of project cost control, budgeting, and reconciliations.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems an added advantage).
