Qualifications


Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline.

5 years of Occupational Hygiene and or Ventilation experience in underground mining and/or processing environment.
3 years of Occupational Hygiene and or Ventilation experience in a supervisor or management position.
Registration with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH) as an Occupational Hygienist will be highly advantageous.
Chamber of Mines Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (MEC)
Must operate at a strategic level
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is advantageous.

After safety, the main purpose of the role is to develop and execute the day to day shift plan utilising their knowledge of the mechanized development cycle to ensure the effective deployment of resources to achieve the shift plan.

The Occupational Hygiene Officer is involved in the planning of monitoring, the measurement of Health stressors (e.g. air monitoring) the evaluation and interpretation of exposures to ensure that Venetia Mine remains compliant with health and hygiene legislation.
