"It is with great pleasure that I recommend the fascinating Researcher, Rachael Byarugaba. She facilited us in Advanced Human Nutrition at Makerere University during our first year of Master of Science in Food Science and Technology, and the students were positively captivated.
Byarugaba is known for being concise; her talks are vibrant and interesting and keep her audiences enthralled. Her lectures on some of the aspects of food insecurity in Sub-sahara Africa such as East Africa are particularly spellbinding as her vast array of knowledge about the Global burden of food insecurity and the aspects of community nutrition. She has photographs of and written notes about some case studies no one in the country possess.
There are few Nutritionists in the country who have a spectrum of knowledge equal to that of Byarugaba and few who can match her in speaking food insecurity. The pace of her lectures is brisk but the information is not too difficult to absorb. She possesses knowledge that is not readily available in Applied Nutrition books and not commonly heard from other lecturers. Byarugaba is passionate about community nutrition, food insecurity and she generates tremendous curiosity among the students inciting them to research and learn more about the current nutritional status in various communities and countries.
