    I think it makes sense to talk to your husband about a job that makes less money. That's something that can cause issues. Perhaps you can cut back on... something and show this to help him understand that there is no penalty in your decision. Otherwise, you can explain the importance of your work, and its meaning to you. Many people, my husband included, focus on the money. Another thing that may be real is that there is no burn-out from your new job. That can be a major benefit. There are vacation perks that you two can take advantage of. There may be pension perks, health insurance perks. Summer perks. It may be a job that makes it easier to have children. Lots of benefits to help him see. Many people do not have the opportunity to work a "dream job", especially if they are breadwinners. This is something you have chosen to do. Its important to show him how it fits into your life as a couple, which is hopefully equally important.
