Experience

  • Hi, I am a beginner in graphic design, although I graduated as a graphic designer, I'm having a hard time finding a job. Could you provide me with some good advice?

    Hello Dope Kid,
Am a fellow Graphics Designer though with extensive experience, about 15 years in the field.

    Advice:
    1. Think outside the box and... explore the option of building your own brand, with a design company/advertising agency. It may sound big today but that should be your primary target. The earliest you started out the better.
I don't know the rigours of registering a company in your country but make research about it, believe in yourself and start.
    2. Take enough time to build a trusted taste of your artworks with the contemporary trends. Practice them. Post them on the different platforms to build a clientele, even before you start the company.
    3. Register yourself with designer platforms like freepik, to explore brains behind great designs.

If you have no start-up capital, you can get a job; some people have proposed options for you on this platform, earn something and then use it to start on your big primary project.

But the MOST important thing is be honest and trustworthy with every single client you get. Great designers work best in the cool of the night when others are asleep.
