Bryan Crawford

"When I think back to my marching band days, one of the people who always comes to mind is Bryan Crawford.

He was my bass technician, but to call him just a technician doesn't feel like it covers everything he brought to our program. He had this way of making even the longest rehearsals feel a little lighter. Whether we were sweating through band camp or grinding through reps before a competition, he always showed up with a positive attitude that made you want to work harder, not because you had to, but because he believed you could.

As a student, it's easy to remember the instructors who made you nervous. I remember the ones who made me feel like I belonged. He challenged us, celebrated our progress, and reminded us that mistakes were just part of getting better.

Years later, I still think about the example he set. His kindness, patience, and genuine love for teaching left a much bigger impression on me than he probably realizes.

If you're looking for someone who leads with encouragement, brings out the best in the people around him, and genuinely cares about the students he works with, I can't recommend him enough. I'm incredibly grateful I got to learn from him."
