"There are people who come into your career and simply do their job, and then there are those who leave a lasting mark on who you become. She is one of those people for me.

She was one of the first people to truly believe in me when I was starting my career in child protection and social work. She saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself. She nurtured me, challenged me, taught me, and, most importantly, taught me to believe in myself and to stand up with confidence.

A lot of the professional I have become today can be traced back to the foundation she helped me build. The lessons, guidance and training I received from her have stayed with me throughout my career and continue to influence how I work and lead.

Today, I am a Registered Manager in the UK, and when I look back at my journey, I know that she played a very important part in getting me here. She didn't just teach me how to do the work; she helped shape the way I think, lead, make decisions and advocate for the children and young people we serve.

Her nurturing leadership style is something I will always remember. She has a rare ability to recognise potential in people, bring it out of them and give them the confidence to grow.

I am genuinely grateful that our paths crossed early in my career. I carry so many of the lessons she taught me wherever I go, and I will always acknowledge the pivotal role she played in shaping the professional I am today.

Thank you for believing in me, for investing in me and for helping me become the manager I am today. ❤️
