The Corporate Head Legal is responsible for overseeing the legal department, managing all legal affairs of the organization, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role includes advising senior management on legal risks, drafting and negotiating contracts, and representing the company in legal proceedings. The Head of Legal will lead a team of legal professionals and work closely with other departments to support the company’s strategic goals.

Expectations:


Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company’s objectives.
Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on various business matters.
Oversee and manage all legal contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
Represent the company in litigation, negotiations, and other legal proceedings.
Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
Train and mentor junior legal staff and other employees on legal compliance and policies
Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.


Qualifications:


Law degree from an accredited institution.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.


Educational Experience:


Law degree (JD or equivalent) is mandatory.
Advanced legal qualifications or certifications (e.g., LLM, in-house counsel certification) are a plus.


Years of Experience:


Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within a corporate or in-house legal environment.


Professional Skills:


Extensive knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and compliance regulations.
Strong negotiation and drafting skills for contracts and legal documents.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficient in legal research and case management software.
