Our Agricultural Research and Development (R&D) Manager leads and guides research efforts to improve agricultural practices, enhance crop yields, and foster sustainable agricultural practices.

This role reports to the CEO and involves developing research programs, overseeing experiments, managing budgets, and leading teams of agricultural scientists to address agricultural challenges. 

The Farm is located at Dama-kusa village, Kwali Area Council, FCT.

Key Responsibilities:


Developing and Overseeing Research Programs: 

Formulating and implementing research initiatives focused on improving agricultural techniques, increasing yields, and promoting sustainable farming practices. 
Leading Research Teams: 

Supervising and mentoring a team of a research assistant and a Data Officer; and works with and other agricultural professionals to ensure project success. 
Managing Budgets and Resources: 

Controlling research budgets, allocating resources effectively, and managing project costs within budget constraints. 
Collaborating with Stakeholders: 

Working with farmers, industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to align research goals with real-world needs. 
Data Analysis and Reporting: 

Analyzing research data, drawing conclusions, and preparing reports for senior management and probably external audiences. 
Presenting Findings: 

Communicating research findings and advancements at industry conferences and other venues. 
Ensuring Research Quality: 

Establishing and maintaining rigorous testing procedures and quality control measures.
Staying Updated: 

Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural research and technology. 


Required Skills and Qualifications:


Educational Background: 

A bachelor's or master's degree in agriculture, agronomy, agricultural engineering, or a related field is typically required. 
Experience: 

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in agricultural research is expected. 
Subject Matter Expertise: 

A strong understanding of agricultural principles, crop science, soil science, and related fields is essential. 
Leadership and Management Skills: 

Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of researchers. 
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: 

Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop effective solutions. 
Communication and Presentation Skills: 

Ability to communicate research findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
