Our bank hires people with all kinds of backgrounds (biologists, philologists) instead of those with proper economics or finance degrees. Management says that basic operations are easy to learn, but honestly, it feels frustrating and demotivating.
Would you be able to work like this? Because I’m honestly running out of patience.

Yes, I could work like this. I've been very successful in technical positions with degrees in Business & Human Resource
Management. A manager once... told me they'd "rather work with a clean slate than someone that already knew everything".
In my opinion, no one walks in knowing everything simply because each company has its own processes. If you are responsible for training them focus on their strengths and build on that. If you are not, stay in your lane, let those responsible handle it. ?

  • yes i am willing to work

  • Learn Modern Monetary Theory to understand how the economy really functions. (remember it explains how it is CURRENTLY working). Econ101 says the... market is like the weather but its not, we own the weather machine, and it is political decisions that split up resources, not market forces. What is needed is a strong centralized government. You are being duped. more

  • news flash, just because someone doesn't have a degree in a field, doesn't mean they aren't proficient. sure i'd be able to work like that, but you -... if it's bothering you that much - might want to go to work for a more ... snooty.... bank more

  • That's wrong sometimes, guys with economic papers are too arrogant, proud and find it difficult to adjust with some new adjustment

  • Which banks in NYC hire blind people?

  • I have a degree in accounting and I could not get a job at any bank that I applied. I changed my resume at least two times to see if that would make a... difference to no avail. So this is frustrating to hear personally. more
