Hi everyone! Does anyone else get annoyed when a job ad doesn’t say the salary? Yesterday I had an interview and asked the HR how much they could pay. He said it depends on my skills. So in the end, I still don’t know what salary I can expect. Is that normal?

    Do some research. Figure out what is fair and good for that position coupled with your experience and skills. M
    ake sure you get that. They will low... ball you until you know what is acceptable and fair. more

    Knowing the salary being offered is important, knowing your worth is equally more important, the question is are you ready to take the lowest pay they... are offering. Why employers do not want to disclose this information is unprofessional. Someone once said you should discuss what you are bringing in then negotiate. They already know you are suited for that position hence the shortlisting. Employers please kindly disclose the salary when asked coz you have the budget you can at least give a range, to avoid wasting each others time. more

    But why would you want to know your salary right away, you’ll still have that salary, first focus on what you’ll contribute to the company then... negotiate the salary later. more

    You have not been offered the job yet it sounds like. I agree you should know what salary range they are in before you apply so you don't waste your... time or theirs if its not going to work for you. I tell my clients to know before and to not ask about the salary unless they ask you what salary are you seeking, then your answer should be, What would you pay someone with my experience? My advice. more

    if that particular piece of information is not voluntarily provided by the employer upfront, chances are its not a place you want to work anyway. Move... on to the next opportunity more

    Don't go to an interview unless you know the pay range. Then only go if you are willing to work for the low end of the range

    Wages are dependent on the employer - asking the pay scale is a fair question. Lossdog.com is working on the salary metrics - check it out if you... wish.
