POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting the finance department in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Beacon of Hope school and Technical Training Institute. The incumbent will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies. This position plays a critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and financial efficiency, while aligning with the broader strategic goals and educational mission of BOH.

Key Responsibilities:


Prepare and submit monthly financial and petty cash reports.
Reconcile and maintain petty cash systems for various departments.
Generate bi-weekly sales reports from the Hospitality Department.
Invoice and receipt student payments through the Student Management Information System (SMIS).
Compile departmental requisitions and follow up with the main account’s office.
Assist in internal and external audit preparations.
Support compliance with financial policies and procedures.


Qualifications and Experience:


Higher Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
CPA part I
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a school set-up, college or university.


Key Competencies:


Proficient in QuickBooks and student management systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Fluent in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
Strong interest or experience in academic instruction is a plus.
