Job Description
Main duties and responsibilities:

Shall plan, set up, execute and report on all trial and crop sciences activities in their activity areas
Shall ensure agronomic advisories and trainings are provided for promptly
Shall monitor progress of field crop science activities and field trials and send timely reports and updates
Shall assist other crop science teams in sourcing of trial sites and demonstration sites in activity regions
Shall ensure data is collected using SGS/ Client preferred ARMs and or in accordance to GEP/GLP when supporting Contract Research activities
Shall write and provide accurate scientific reports when needed
Shall be able to do scientific data analysis using preferred tools
Ensure sustainability practices and key performance indicators are met
Participate in assigned events to offer technical advice and to support the crop sciences team to achieve target objectives
Ensure that work carried out and workplaces under his/her control meet the requirements of the group minimum health, safety and environment standards and procedures
Ensure compliance to health, safety and environment procedures and policies for SGS and client
Conduct any other duty and assignment as may be assigned to him/her
At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct

Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

Hold a minimum of Diploma in Soil Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, or any other agricultural related course.
Have at least 2 years working experience in field agronomy, conducting field trials and field research.
Must be competent in motor vehicle riding and have a valid riding license
Have a valid certificate of good conduct
Good interpersonal and communication skills – grassroot experience preferred.
Sensitive to set timelines and targets
Physically fit, hardworking, honest and performance driven
Must be computer literate
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and a team player.
Basic knowledge of HSE standards and riding competency are added advantages.
