ABOUT THE JOB: 

The Media and Communication Officer plays a crucial role in shaping public perception and engaging stakeholders. The responsibilities include developing and implementing communication strategies, managing media relations, creating content for various platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging to promote the organization's mission, vision, and goals. They also act as a spokesperson.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Media and Communication Officer shall be responsible for the;


Assist in the regular production of situation reports, weekly reviews, bulletins, annual reports, and donor-related materials with a report, success tales, photos, and recordings. 
Assist with compiling information from all sectors made throughout wide implementation areas, managing information generation, and managing all social media accounts. 
Work together with the EYN management team to create, gather, and organize essential resources for crisis reaction data collection and immediate transmission. 
Ensure that the crisis communication methods, work schedule, and items appropriately match EYN Projects' rights-based programming approach and child safety policy. 
Ensure compliance with plans, norms, and policies as well as branding of the organization. 
Keep track of and evaluate the results of our communications activity.
Coordinate with program focal points to develop quotations, press releases, media pitches, media briefings, and multimedia content, and plan media engagement activities around events.
Take charge of all PR-related events and creatively explain your involvement in emergencies so that you may take advantage of all media chances (including, mainstream media, new media and online opportunities such as blogging and social media influencers).
Manage proactive media engagement to create chances to increase the awareness of EYN Projects and to produce proactive and positive press coverage.
Host and plan media excursions to project sites and regions of effect, and serve as a consultant and support to press representatives in affiliates who are attempting to secure media coverage in their markets.
Create a communications/media plan employing radio material for the "strengthening project response in the Northeast, and Transparency and Accountability in Government."
Work with the partner stations to guarantee the episodes of a live magazine radio program in States of implementation are produced and broadcast in strict accordance with the law.
When the need arises, develop themes and topics for the radio program.
Choose suitable guests from partner organizations who can address a range of discussion topics.
Keep media logs updated, giving the senior project coordinator feedback and monitoring data.
Listen to all broadcast episodes of the radio show, report on them, and offer helpful criticism to your fellow journalists.
Keep track of the news stories about the organization in both online and offline media.
A proposed advocacy strategy for Search's work in the Northeast that will be included in the donors' report.
Assist with the drafting and structuring of outreach, media, and communication pieces.
Manage the project's social media accounts, including posting and sharing information, organizing campaigns, and keeping track of developments.
Take pictures and record success stories at all search activities, training sessions, and meetings.
Participate in initiatives to increase visibility, such as by helping to organize media visits.
· Submit all media-related activities for reporting, and include in donor reports.
Assistance in creating weekly context updates.
Depending on the chosen theme and/or sector, identify lessons learned, restrictions, and project impacts for inclusion in quarterly reports.
Carry out any additional tasks that your supervisor may assign you.

Qualification: 


B.Sc./HND in; Mass communication, Journalism and or a related social science discipline 
Master’s Degree in above fields is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in gender transformative programming and mainstreaming preferably in a humanitarian and/or development contexly
