Job Purpose


The job holder is responsible for engineering design, project costing, tender documentation, tendering processes, project management, and construction supervision as well as oversee maintenance of airport infrastructure.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


Developing concept and detailed engineering designs, preparation of design specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for civil engineering projects;
Drafting design specifications and tender documents;
Establishing project risk registers and a monitoring and evaluation framework for projects;
Overseeing the implementation of civil engineering assets maintenance programs within all airports and airstrips;
Participating in project planning, origination, prioritizing and budgeting for civil engineering projects;
Supporting in the supervision of capital project activities in project management;
Participation in Airport Master-planning activities; and
Liaising with Legal department in preparation and execution of contracts.


 Key Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution of higher learning
Master’s degree is desirable
A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience in civil engineering works, three (3) of which must be in a supervisory position
Professional registration with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), or equivalent
Member of Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), ASK, PMP, or related professional body
Postgraduate qualifications in airport engineering/ planning is an added advantage
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
Proficiency in Computer application
