You mentioned the word never twice. But you don't mention how long you've been with this company. 10 years without ever getting a raise is a big... difference from one year without giving a raise. If you have been with the company more than two years and you have not gotten a raise you can set up a time to meet your employer and ask for a raise yourself. List the reasons you think you deserve one, including the cost of living, projects you've worked on, and things you have done to generate the company more money. If it's 3 years, no raise, and the boss is not willing to negotiate with you, then look for a new job. more

Truth is you shouldn't get rewarded for performing the job they pay you to do. Monetary awards should come from going above and beyond. Ex., saving... the company a large amount of money or bringing in new clients.  more

I think being grateful definitely is a starting point, but importantly realise that he is putting his needs first, and you also have to do so and look... for a place which would lead to your growth financially too. more

Your contract is the answer to your question. Does it include any performance incentives? If yes, does it specify the exact type of incentive? Does it... give discretionary powers to management to determine the financial value of the incentive? If part or all of the above are in your contract - look to wisdom, knowledge, and proper timing to bring it up. On the other hand, if your contract -states nothing on incentives, you need lots of wisdom to get through to demand for what is not directly your entitlement.  more

You accepted the terms of employment. Your boss is not required to pay you more than what you agreed to. You can meet with your boss and ask for a... raise, be ready to justify why you feel you deserve the increase. You can look for another job,leave or accept that you are there by mutual choice.  more
