Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for:

Interpreting of architectural and engineering drawings relative to building works;
Interpreting building and civil engineering specifications and bills of quantities;
Working out estimates of costs of building works; and
Supervising building contracts and maintenance works; and coordinating the work of artisans under them.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

Have Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering or Construction Management;
Have Certificate in relevant computer packages;
Be conversant with relevant bylaws;
Have served in the position of Technician (Building) Grade 5/6 for at least three (3) years; and
Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
