Requirements include:


Registered with HPCSA as a Specialist General Surgeon
At least 1 year’s post-qualification experience in academic General Surgery
Demonstrable teaching experience at postgraduate level
Demonstrable research supervision experience at master’s level
Excellent written communication skills


Advantageous:


Excellent interpersonal abilities
Familiarity with web-based learning tools


Responsibilities include:


Curriculum development and quality improvement of the MMed General Surgery program
Co-ordination of the MMed program in the Division
Clinical MMed Supervision and workplace-based assessment
Mentoring (including research supervision and co-supervision) of post-graduate students in the Division of General Surgery
Assistance with post graduate training programme across the Department of Surgery
Assisting the Division to improve Research outputs through development of own research interests, as well as the divisional research supervision capacity
Clinical service delivery within the Division of General Surgery
