i've been at my current job for almost 3 years. I have been cleaning for over 10 years. I am tired of cleaning. I have obtained my high school diploma two weeks ago and I would like to go to school for something else and work on the weekends and evenings, what shall I do?

Congratulations on earning your high school diploma! 🎓 Now that you’ve achieved this milestone, you can enroll in any college course you’re... interested in. Keep the momentum going!
Healthcare is a great field to consider since there are plenty of job opportunities, but the most important thing is to choose something you truly enjoy. In my former job, one of our longtime security guards decided to go back to school and get an accounting degree. He was later hired by the company as a grant accountant, got promoted, and eventually landed an even better position at another organization.
Go ahead, take that next step and enroll in a college course. You will be amazed at the doors that will open for you!

  • Congrats. Realistically, no one can tell you what to do. It's essential that you completely own your career. Picture yourself in the driver's seat... with your hands on the steering wheel of your car (eer). Now ask yourself:

1.Do I derive my greatest satisfaction from working with people, machines/tech or data?
    2. What kinds of work in the my preferred category (above) offers me an opportunity to do what I genuinely excel at?
    3. Where can I research, observe or get some trial experience in that kind of work (to see how it "feels")? Sometimes one can subscribe to a professional association newsletter or join a professional association to get the inside view of the work and the sector)
    4. Does my trial experience, observation and research regarding this particular type of work or profession (#3) tell me that this it is a good fit for me?
    5. If # 4 is a definitive "yes", am I prepared to make the investment (time, NGR, finances) required in order to acquire the entry "ticket"(education/training/credential/experience) in order to enter the above field or qualify for that kind of work?
    6. If #5 is "yes", and I have the resources and I'm prepared to make the investment, what is my plan for moving forward and getting the qualification or credential?
