For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-


Served for a minimum period of three (3) years at the grade of Principal Wildlife Officer, CSG 8 or in a comparable and in relevant position in the wider public ser-vice;
A Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Environmental Science, En-vironmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Resource Conservation, Environmental Education, Environmental Management and Conservation, Environmental Studies and Com-munity Development, Environmental Studies and Community Resource Conserva-tion ,Bio Resource Conservation and Management, Botany, Climate Change and Development, Forestry, Coastal and Marine Resource Management, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Marine Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Management, Zoology or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance and exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to proper management of environment and natural resource function.


Duties and Responsibilities


Liaising with stakeholders to develop guidelines, standards, and agreements in the wildlife sector.
Initiating national policies on wildlife conservation, governance, and participation.
Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of national wildlife conservation and management strategies.
Developing procedures for the sustainable utilization, management, and conservation of wildlife resources.
