Job interviews can be a bundle of nerves, but the key to acing them is preparation, preparation, preparation.

Although knowing your own CV like the back of your hand and researching the company thoroughly are crucial steps, it's important to have some smart questions up your sleeve to ask the interviewer.

Luckily, a career guru has come to the rescue with her top six "impressive" job interview questions that are sure to make an impact.

TikTok's Erin McGoff dished out advice to her followers, saying: "Six impressive questions to ask at the end of a job interview that will make the recruiter say, 'dammmmnnnnnn'."

First, Erin played out two mock interviews to demonstrate what not to do, for instance, asking zero questions or being too forward and presuming you get the job.

Erin's main takeaway was to always go into an interview with questions ready, and be considerate of the interviewer's time by checking how much is left. If there's a moment to spare, she suggests asking her six golden questions to leave a lasting "impressive" impression.

If I were to start this position today, who would I be reporting to? I read on the company website that you value sustainability. Can you tell me a little bit more about how that's implemented? How did COVID affect business and the company culture? I recently saw on the news that Company B launched an AI product. Will company AP following suit? I'm really interested in this position is there anything else that I could elaborate on to strengthen my application?

Lastly, Erin recommended always thanking your interviewer for their time and asking when you could expect to hear back from them with the next steps.

People watching the video also shared their own insightful questions. One user replied: "I always ask: what are the qualities you feel make your employees the most successful? Their answer reveals a lot about whether or not you would be happy working there."

Someone else added: "I asked the boss how she would describe her leadership style. I want to know if the company is a good fit for me but I also knew it was a topic she was passionate about. Got feedback they were impressed." And a third user enthused: "I have an interview tomorrow, definitely adding these to my list of questions!"
