JOB FUNCTION:
• The successful candidate will join our team as a Senior Accounts Payable Officer in the Finance Department. • This individual will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and be responsible for managing vendor relationships. • The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will have full ownership of the entire accounts’ payable operations, including invoice booking and vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities
• Enforce internal controls around invoice approval, prevention of duplication of invoice, and segregation of duties. • Invoice validation and initiation after thorough checks. • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, withholding tax compliance where applicable). • Ensure appropriate approvals and compliance with company policy. • Keeping and maintaining a schedule of prepayment invoices and retirement application • Supervise vendor reconciliation and follow up to close all open issues. • In charge of Payroll Reconciliation and closure of open items. • Advising payment officer on invoices to process based on approved cash flow and invoice due dates. • Staff expense management (Claims, Cash advance and expense retirement) • Ensure all AP transactions are posted before closing deadlines. • Contribute to ERP upgrades or new system implementations. • Support audit requests with proper documentation and analysis. • Conduct any other task as may be assigned by the Accounts payable manager.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A bachelor’s degree from any recognized University with emphasis in Accounting or any Business-related field • ACCA/CA – Final level qualification • At least 4 years relevant work experience (preferably in a multinational setting)
