The Product Sourcing Officer will be tasked with effecting a more efficient product sourcing process to save costs and maximize profitability. You will negotiate with suppliers to obtain finished goods/raw materials, and services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of the Shea Butter industry.
Responsibilities:

Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Working with the finance team to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
Formulating evaluative resources to guide your fieldwork.
Inspecting production sites to ascertain the appropriateness of production conditions.
Collecting product samples, where possible, for subsequent inspection.

Requirements:
Education:

A minimum of university or equivalent degree in any field.

Experience:

At least 3 years of relevant experience in sourcing for suppliers
Experience in product packaging
Experience in product supply chain locally and internationally
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.
Product (preferably agric) exportation experience.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in both written and spoken English; knowledge of another local/foreign language desirable.
