My coworker who sits next to me really annoys me, she’s always stealing my ideas.
If I talk about something or mention an idea, she later presents it to the boss like it was hers. She also keeps looking at my screen and taking my project ideas.
I’ve honestly felt like flipping the table, but that’s obviously not an option.
What should I do? I’m tired of her constantly taking credit for my ideas.

In addition to the other good suggestions, can you get a privacy screen for your monitor so she has to be directly behind you to see the screen? I had... those before for privacy.  more

  • Suggest a really bad idea. Research it carefully. Never discuss why it's a bad idea. Feel free to lie about why it is a good idea.

  • Write an email to your boss about your development ideas, but write when you are alone at home.

  • Stop talking about your idears while in office. Do it outside office.

  • Have you asked her to stop? Stop letting her! Turn your screen in another direction. Stop talking loud about your ideas. If you have to share with... her put it in writing and bcc your team lead. That way someone else knows. Do not tell her or anyone you're bcc'ing the team lead. This is really your situation to fix. more

  • Why do you mention them to him

  • A fish wouldn’t get caught if he kept his
mouth shut = stop sharing your ideas with her.

  • I have an idea:
I have a talk with the Boss and tell them to keep it quiet about it and to like act very thing is normal (if there are trustworthy, if... it leaks it means there in on it together or have or some kind of relationship), then go talk to girl about how annoying she has been and tell her to stop (Script below). The reason why you need to talk to the Boss first is to have the leverage, so that when she( the annoying one) comes complaining to the boss about how mean you are or something to seem like a victim (beacause she probably will after
you tell her about her behavior towards you), you will win.

The script for the Boss: you should start like "I've been having an issue with [Coworker] taking credit for my work. I’ve decided to have a direct"

The script for the annoying one: I’ve noticed you’ve been presenting my project ideas as your own and looking at my screen frequently. It’s making it difficult for me to trust our working relationship. I need you to stop using my ideas without attribution and give me some physical space to work. (hard to play victim against someone who is simply asking for credit for their own work) and record the interaction if you can (if the law allows it, if not inform her via email).

  • You should be glad, someone pitching your ideas is great. Less work for you and things are progressing in the right direction. Some of us would love... to be in your situation, because that is exactly what we get burned out with - trying to get others to present our ideas as their own. more
