The Grant Account Officer is a vital member of the WBFA finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial management of grant-funded programs. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills and experience in a non-profit setting.
You will work collaboratively with the Director of Finance, Endowment Account Manager, Grant Account Manager, and Endowment Account Officer to ensure financial compliance with donor restrictions and WBFA policies.

Responsibilities

Process grant receipts and disbursements in accordance with donor agreements and WBFA accounting procedures.
Maintain accurate and detailed grant accounting records, including budgets, expenditures, and accruals.
Prepare grant reports for donors as required by their agreements.
Assist with grant budgeting and forecasting.
Monitor grant activity to ensure compliance with donor restrictions and WBFA policies.
Prepare reconciliation statements for grant accounts.
Close out grant accounts upon completion of the program.
Assist with internal audits related to grant funding.
Perform other financial tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in grant accounting or a related field
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

Experience working with donor restrictions
Experience with grant budgeting and forecasting
Experience with a non-profit accounting software package (QuickBooks Non-Profit, etc.)
