Key Responsibilities


Lead the technical strategy and product development roadmap for the Wasafiri App
Oversee AWS cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost optimization
Work closely with our external app development partner to manage delivery timelines and code quality
Set up and integrate customer support tools (Freshdesk Contact Center, WhatsApp, chatbots etc)
Build and automate a secure, AI-enhanced customer experience, including self-service journeys
Recruit, lead, and inspire a small in-house technical team as we scale
Monitor system performance, data protection, and compliance with global standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS)
Collaborate with the Founder/CEO on product vision, reporting, and business growth alignment


Requirements


2–3 years’ experience in software engineering, DevOps, or technical leadership
Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront)
Familiar with mobile app stacks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Firebase, Node.js)
Previous experience working in remote or hybrid teams
Proven ability to manage external tech vendors and partners
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, APIs, and cloud architecture best practices
Exposure to AI tools or automation platforms a major plus
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Must be based in Nairobi or willing to relocate
