Watoto is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to support and enhance an environment that caters for 21st century science-based learning.

Create and uphold a laboratory system that organises, tracks and monitors usage of facility and resources and report on it.
Prepare for practical lessons and exams to ensure that specimens, reagents and apparatus needed are availed to the teachers when needed.
Ensure laboratory stock management, quality assurance, sanitization and safety of the teachers and learners in the laboratory.
Ensure safety of the teachers and students while in the laboratory.
Design standard operating procedures for reagent standardization from stock solutions.
Work with the science teachers and heads of departments to draw a laboratory usage timetable to avoid clashes
Demonstrate a culture of innovation and creativity.
Support science clubs in accessing, gathering and organising information.
Liaise with staff to use the laboratory for a variety of educational purposes, theme weeks, projects display.
Organise in-house displays of new laboratory acquisitions and supplier exhibitions.
Plan, budget, requisition and recommend for the acquisition of materials and equipment which are appropriate for the curriculum, learners and teachers.
Ensure proper and timely stock taking of reagents and equipment in the laboratory on a termly basis.
Participate in the teaching of students, where appropriate and as may be assigned by the head of science department.
Participate in the preparation of science exhibitions and projects are needed.
