Hi, can you help me out? Today is my third working day at the bank. My probation period won't end for another three months.
But my manager is demanding that I sign an agreement for full financial responsibility and start working at the bank's cash desk.
Is that even legal?
I haven't been trained at all, and they want me to handle this work on my own (the head cashier suddenly went on sick leave).
I'm in complete shock.

  • Iren one thing that you should know about banking is cash and risk and for you to enjoy banking as your job, the best field to start on is tellering... because it helps you to be attentive, tolerable, patient and introduce you to CDD so that you don’t fall victim so be thankful that you are starting from there and just learn along more

  • Go for it dear, am sure they train you as long as you will be willing to learn.
    Good luck.

  • Hello Nice connecting with you! Would you be interested in learning how to make good extra incomes on weekly basis with the help of bitcoin investment... you could make up to $12,500 and interested?above weekly.Ask me how if you are

  • There are two things you must do. Firstly, Accept the duties because i do not see any rocket science issues ariding. learn as much as possible.... Secondly, check on the legal issues with your supervisor, in writing, then be extra careful.  more

  • I can't believe some of the replies here. Yes, you should do it. You'll be fine, it isn't rocket science. It shows your manager you have flexibility... and willing to learn. You'll learn how to do it fine.  more

  • I think being three days on probation three days is not a problem but how much capable are you to handle the responsibilities to be a signed! The... challenge is that the who would be close to you as you gain some experience is sick now whom do you expect to do that if not you. what you should do is to carefully take up the work God has sent you there for a purpose and through the manager he will see you through. Please learn to consult your boss he will help if you politely handle yourself  more

  • If you are able to handle the tasks laid in the agreement then you can sign, probation period allows you understand how certain tasks and system... operate and either before or after its completion your supervisors make recommendations. For your sake if you feel you are not ready for the challenge request for training before signing or as you sign make sure there's a clause which provides for your training.  more

  • Dear Iren Mayer
Thank you for reaching out—and I'm glad you did. Your concern is valid.
You're only in your third day at the bank and still within... your probation period, so it's entirely appropriate to expect proper training and supervision before taking on significant responsibilities—especially those involving financial accountability at a cash desk.

  • You probably dont wanna do that, too legally problematic for you, consult a lawyer and ask for a review of that agreement. But definitely dont sign

  • If you work at the cash desk, it is normal to expect that bank would want some safeguards. You have a valid point that you need training and should... ask supervisor to enroll you in such training. Similarly you should ask your manager to set up a session with company attorney to acquaint you with details of that agreement . Good luck  more

  • Just do it

  • Even on probation, your bank can assign cash duties—but it must first train you.
    • Training Is Mandatory
Federal rules require BSA/AML and... cash-handling training.
    • Be a Team Player, But Protect Yourself
    1. If they put you on the cash desk untrained, you’ve got grounds to escalate.
    2. Ask for written cash-handling procedures and schedule formal training before signing anything.
    3. Request the financial-responsibility agreement in advance; have HR explain any unclear clauses.
    4. Document every request for training or clarification.
Bottom line: Probation doesn’t waive training requirements. If they refuse to train you, push back through HR (and log it)—untrained cash handling is not only scary but also a compliance red flag.

  • Really. You should be able to figure that one out on your own

  • This is dicey because if you don't sign the contract you loose the job and on the other hand too if you accept the offer now you might mess up things... since you have barely been trained  more

  • Baby, first of all, I hope in this new job, like the stars of the night, I have to say that under no circumstances do not accept the responsibility... that your boss is another people who are there and have a higher experience and experience instead of you.  more

  • This kind of agreement especially if signed under pressure can be legally problematic. You can't be held accountable for something you're not trained... to do. more

  • Besides they probably don’t pay you enough

  • You shouldn’t be responsible for others mistakes.

  • I will help you
