Please i recently interviewed for a big firm , got to final stage interview and later received a rejection . i had previously looked up my interviewers ( 4 people ) on Linkedin and found them. is it a good idea to send them a connection request? i am really disappointed and pained as i had envisioned myself in the role already.

It definitely isn’t about you not being good enough. A lot of times, organizations already have someone they’re leaning toward internally, and they... still interview very strong external candidates to validate or “sanitize” the process. Sometimes candidates like you actually raise the bar for the process rather than fall short of it.

And yes — it’s completely okay to send them a LinkedIn connection request, especially if you keep it professional and gracious. You don’t need to mention the disappointment in detail. A simple note thanking them for their time and saying you appreciated the conversations is enough. You never know what future opportunities or referrals may come from maintaining that connection

I mistakenly deleted a comment I wanted to reply to. How do I recover it? This platform is new to me 😩

  • They should have just advertised internally if they some internal person(s)

  • When you can imagine, it you have to walk on faith.

  • Yes I'd send them a 'follow'. You need the feedback on why you didn't get hired, but you need a relationship with them first.

  • I also faced the same. Morever , they failed even give evaluation report. This issue needs to be taken up with employers.

  • You can contact them for future considerations! But continue to apply to other companies while leveling up your general skills!
