The purpose of this position to provide support to the communication function for Uganda Cooperative Alliance. This will include enforcing branding and marketing guidelines, managing social media platforms, development, and production of communication materials like photography, videography and managing Uganda Cooperative Alliance events. Additionally, incumbent will be expected to work with the project team to identify, research and develop high quality success stories which will be used by donors, Uganda Cooperative Alliance and project staff to produce a quarterly e-Newsletter amongst other communication materials.

Develop and disseminate quarterly UCA newsletter for staff, beneficiaries, key stakeholders and don other publications for internal and external audiences to promote the cooperative movement agenda.
The Communications and Marketing officer will be responsible for drafting content: setting up interviews with other UCA team staff members, partners, clients and beneficiaries, traveling into the field on a regular basis, developing interview questions, interviewing clients to collect stories, drafting stories using quotes/audio/notes taken and submitting finalized work, with photos.
Implement, ensure proper application and achievement of the UCA overall communication strategy
Provide strategic leadership in the communications and marketing department serving as communication and marketing officer.
Establish and operationalize the UCA communications strategy by ensuring that the appropriate management structures and policies are continuously developed, reviewed and implemented
Prepare and submit regular and periodic department performance reports to Management for strategic direction and qualitative assessment on the achievement of the planned activities and goals
Ensure that operating procedures and controls are established and communicated to solidify Management controls and UCA direction
Develop a media strategy and engage different media houses and platforms to create UCA visibility and brand.
