The successful candidate shall be expected to provide excellent leadership of the FORT team in the implementation of project activities in five regions of Uganda, including Lango, Busoga, Elgon, Western and Southwestern regions, with a total of 27 districts. As a team leader, the person shall ensure improved position of FOs versus public and private actors to contribute to a more enabling... environment for Smallholder farmers by supporting FOs in enhancing their external agency through advocacy, coalition-building, networking, and partnership development.

Define program objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with the FORT project goals and objectives.
Take an administrative role of the FORT Project team to ensure efficient and effective implementation of project activities in line with the project goal and objectives.
Take close supervision, mentorship and technical backstopping of the project team to ensure timely implementation and reporting.
Conduct program reviews, lessons learned sessions, and post-implementation assessments to capture insights and best practices.
Track program metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Monitoring and evaluation of staff performance against the set standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards throughout the program lifecycle.
Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project team and across the organization.
Develop and maintain a calendar of key advocacy activities, meetings ensuring alignment with UCA’s overarching strategy.
Develop tailored capacity-building programs to strengthen the advocacy and operational capabilities of member organisations.
Organise and provide logistical support for in-person and virtual events, including training sessions, capacity-building webinars, and meetings.
Facilitate communication, interaction, and information sharing between implementing partners, other partners and stakeholders.
Attend and represent UCA in various local, regional and global advocacy platforms and forums.
Facilitate, coordinate, develop, implement and track advocacy strategies, plans and activities.
Formulate and deliver a clear and effective advocacy and lobbying program and activities including the development and dissemination of advocacy and lobbying change stories and messages.
Conduct an analysis and report on the changes and impact of the advocacy and lobbying work and messaging.
Initiating and supporting the development of advocacy materials to achieve the Break Free Program’s common advocacy goals and intended outcomes.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports to document progress, achievements, and lessons learnt as required by the donor.
Provide clarity on annual advocacy progress, identifying key milestones and advancing project and UCA’s strategic goals.
Build the advocacy capacity (knowledge and skills) of partners to effectively advocate at local, national, regional and global level.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

The purpose of this position to provide support to the communication function for Uganda Cooperative Alliance. This will include enforcing branding and marketing guidelines, managing social media platforms, development, and production of communication materials like photography, videography and managing Uganda Cooperative Alliance events. Develop and disseminate quarterly UCA newsletter for staff, beneficiaries, key stakeholders and don other publications for internal and external audiences to promote the cooperative movement agenda.
The Communications and Marketing officer will be responsible for drafting content: setting up interviews with other UCA team staff members, partners, clients and beneficiaries, traveling into the field on a regular basis, developing interview questions, interviewing clients to collect stories, drafting stories using quotes/audio/notes taken and submitting finalized work, with photos.
Implement, ensure proper application and achievement of the UCA overall communication strategy
Provide strategic leadership in the communications and marketing department serving as communication and marketing officer.
Establish and operationalize the UCA communications strategy by ensuring that the appropriate management structures and policies are continuously developed, reviewed and implemented
Prepare and submit regular and periodic department performance reports to Management for strategic direction and qualitative assessment on the achievement of the planned activities and goals
Ensure that operating procedures and controls are established and communicated to solidify Management controls and UCA direction
Develop a media strategy and engage different media houses and platforms to create UCA visibility and brand.
