I work at a small company where everyone goes to the pub on Friday evenings with their husbands or wives. I don't go very often, and I never bring my boyfriend because I don't really want to be part of that whole family-style group. Lately, though, my coworkers have been asking if I even have a boyfriend and seem annoyed that I don't join them. How can I get them to stop asking and leave me alone about these Friday pub outings?

Be occupied with Christ and you'll never find yourself in clubs. On Fridays you can even go to kesha. But when you be available for them it will be... easy for them to drag you in.

  • Hi Charlotte,
You honestly do not know owe anyone an explanation. These individuals are your co-workers not necessarily friends just yet right but... this is their way of getting to know you and know what you're about and them trying building a relationship with you. I would say just be honest with them. You and your boyfriend prefer to do other things together rather than go to Pub so every now and then I choose to hang out with you all when I can....not sure if that's your reason but something like that should kill the questions. If you don't want them to know that you have a boyfriend, you can say the Pub just isn't something you do weekly or something you do with someone you are dating. Whether true or not it cuts the questions.  more

  • You don't owe them an explanation.
But if you feel inclined, tell them you will come when your schedule allows.
*And do not share your schedule....
Second, tell them your boyfriend has his own Friday routine and that he only needs to be real to you.

  • Personal comfort over what is to be know as social norms. Truth is we all lived in small family groups, not work friend groups, that’s what slaves do.... Work is a form of slavery devised by the people with money and power. The created the social conditioning engine that goes by the name Capitalism and is lead from a religious doctrine, in these colonized practices we see these social norms being developed to support the model keeping everyone in line with the program to pay their taxes and on and on. The First Nations have been dealing with this for 500 years, we are glad everyone is waking up to the reality. • Become satisfied with their suspicions. The truth is you have the boyfriend. And you must be having something you do on Friday that replaces their... daily Friday's so tell them you are occupied on Fridays. But for your emotional health identify about 1 to 3 colleagues with pure hearts to connect during working hours. They will protect you from their toxic social culture.
