Job Summary:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of the company’s financial records.  It also involves working closely with the finance team to ensure that all financial reporting is completed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting, Reporting, Analysis

Ensure accounts are accurate and complete and compliant. By ensuring daily accounting entries are correct, complete, timely and authorized. Both execution as well as review of OPS entries.
Weekly reporting and analysis of ledger accounts.
Provide input and suggestions for efficiency- and cost control and management following reviews and analysis.
Root cause analysis of all identified accounting and reporting (compliance) issues
Prepare any other required reports and information (internal or external) related to the areas of responsibilities.

Controls and Compliance

Perform allocated monthly balance sheet reconciliations are adequately prepared, reviewed and concluded on WD+5.
Review allocated balance sheet reconciliation for selected accounts.
Ensure setup and master data in the system are accurate
Communicate timely on non- compliance and output of analysis to Finance Lead in a timely manner.
Participate in stock take process

Audits, reviews, assessments

Support the year end audit and ensure that auditors are provided with the required information and documentation on time.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of other internal, external and governmental audits.
Responsible for timely and effective remediation of all audit findings occurring in the area of responsibility.

Development

On going US GAAP and IFRS training of peers and other members as required

Staff management

Train other accountants on reporting and accounting standards as required and ensure implementation.
Train team on balance sheet reconciliations.
Document SOPs for processes relating to the areas of responsibility
Any other assigned task or responsibility by management

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory management or cost accounting.
Certifications: intermediate of ACCA, CA, CMA etc. certification
Age: 25 – 35years
