A Manufacturing company is inviting suitably qualified applicants to fill a vacant position: Accounting Assistant
Job Purpose:
• The successful applicant shall be responsible for accounting schedules and provide accurate, reliable and timely accounting information in accordance with international financial reporting/regulatory requirements and company's accounting policies and procedures
Principal Accountabilities
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment processing • Reconcile Bank statements, accounts and financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies • Process statutory payments, i.e VAT SSNIT and withholding taxes • Carry out pricing of various product formulations, issue customer invoices and prepare weekly summary of sales to generate revenue information • Prepare weekly cash position, cumulative sales summary and debtors schedule • Provide assistance to the Finance Team in various accounting tasks and projects as would be required
Qualification Required & Experience
• ACCA/CA Part I or Equivalent • At least 4 years post qualification work experience and • Proficiency in Accounting software - ACCPAC or similar Accounting software • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint. • Analytical thinking and team building skills etc • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality • Knowledgeable in quality, occupational health & safety and environmental ISO management systems
