For appointment to this grade, an officer must: 

have Bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution; 

OR 

have Higher National Diploma m relevant discipline from a recognized institution, for Medical and Engineering fields; 
have Computer skills in relevant packages from a recognized institution; 
have served in the grade of Technician, Grade 7/8 (VII/VIII) or in a comparable relevant position for at least three (3) years; 
be registered and licensed by the relevant professional body; and 
have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results .
