Duties and Responsibilities


Oversee the operations and smooth running of the Revenue Assurance and Credit Control function of the Corporation.
Ensure custody, review, and implementation of credit control and debt management policy.
Develop revenue recognition strategies to maximize the Corporation's revenue.
Develop internal controls to support revenue assurance management activities.
Oversee timely and correct processing of customer invoices and billing of the same in the customers’ respective accounts.
Undertake client creditworthiness assessments, timely debt collection, and prompt institution of recovery measures.
Ensure vetting, creation, activation, and deactivation of debtor accounts are done in accordance with agreed rules and procedures.
Timely posting and updating of debtors' statements and GL accounts by undertaking necessary debtors’ reconciliations.
Prepare and submit timely revenue and debtors' reports and debt aging reports.
Advise management during development and periodic review of revenue-related charges, tariffs, and rates.
Advise management on the issuance of relevant discounts and appropriate provisions.
Oversee the extension of credit to customers.
Train and develop Revenue Assurance & Credit Control Division staff.
Provide support and take responsibility for the performance of the Revenue Assurance and Credit Control Division staff.
Approve credit adjustments in the customers’ accounts.
Ensure implementation and compliance with the Finance Policy Manual, Quality Management System (QMS), and Enterprise Risks Management (ERM) to facilitate sound governance.


Requirements of the Job


Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Finance or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
A Certified Public Accountant or its equivalent.
Registered member of ICPAK and in good standing.
A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in a Senior Management position.
Undertaken a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
