Good Morning! Seeking insight into starting a business! I have a vision but I'm not sure where to get started! Anyone have an experience with this? Thank you in advance! Have a good day!

  • (1) How many people want the product/service you will provide?
    (2) How much will they pay?
    (3) After overheads, how much profit? And how much tax will... you need to pay... when? and what are the deductions?
    (4) How will the customer know about your product/service? Advertising? How much will this cost?
Most important to reduce tax... keep every receipt and keep running totals each day/week, in a book.

  • Good morning
Before you get started you need to know:
Who: who is your target audience that you want to sell to?
    What: what are you selling?
When:... set a realistic time to launch your business.
Where: will you launch this business in your home or is it just an online business?
Why: know your why. This will motivate you when things are tough.
Come up with a business name and then run it through your states website to make sure it is not taken. I would not advise getting an LLC until you know for sure you can make money from your idea. Test out your idea. Offer services and see your feedback. I hope some of these steps help you.

  • listen to Nike : Just do it! Don' t ask question just do it. You have the vision, just do it!

  • Insight.....you already have. You have the beautiful idea. There are many types of business I run 5 different types. Each type has its own challenges.... I recommend constant learning and some really big kahunaaas. I suggest a book....the pumpkin plan. I suggest finding a group in same arena to find colleagues, I suggest as another has that you go through the process of doing the full business plan yourself. SBA.gov tells you how. You learn so much through that process. Then it's just take each challenge as just that, not a problem, believe in your vision and the amazing benefits for your clients that make you the absolute best, and know with every fiber of your being that " you got this". more

  • My biggest advice I could give on starting your own business is make sure you're not money focused. Be 115% sure you have the passion for what you're... producing. I hope if your trying to start this that you at least have the seed capital, but the main thing make sure you love what your going into and don't think of it as a way to make more than what you're currently doing. If you have the passion the money will follow.  more

  • Yes I am a new business owner of one year and have picked up a few things that may be helpful to you to start your journey.

  • I have some knowledge, Miranda.

Do you have a business plan ? It will help. There’s the SBA.gov and
    Score.org.
I’ve watched a few videos and... Webinars on SCORE.
Make / create your business, i.e.
    SA, LLC, Corporate, or other.
I chose the LLC. I set up a business bank account and added the LLC with the bank’s help.

If you have your own physical products, start a simple 1-2 page website, listing the products, with pictures and small videos - depending on your brand, audience, and business.

I added Calendy and MailChimp this year to my website- does take some
Tech know how. I don’t let us scare you. It’s part of life now, right ? Ha ha
    😅
My website should be listed on my profile, though for easy access it’s
    www.KerryKennard.com

I teach, perform, and more writing / composing using Logic Pro for
    Music Production.
Hope this helps. Biggest thing for most new businesses is knowing your audience. 👍🏻👍🏻
