Hi everyone! I work in accounting at a logistics company. There used to be two of us, but now I’m alone and can hardly handle all the work. I asked my boss for a raise, but he threatened to fire me and said I should be glad to have this job.
I’m really tired. How can I make him give me a raise or hire someone to help me?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I’m in the exact same boat, and am so sorry you’re going through this too.. It’s really hard! If your boss reacted like that, (knowing how much work... you’re handling at the moment, cause let’s be real, the bosses never do it themselves!) and threatened to fire you??? LET HIM. Claim unemployment until you find another job and let him see how much you were actually doing for him. more

  • Soo bad to hear. I comment you for the great job. Yes, some bosses are chair bosses. You need to work to your best, enjoy your job, until you get the... job where you be valued. As for now, it's clear, your boss will never appreciate you. more

  • With that attitude your boss has, never forego a weekend just to deliver work. At the end of the day he will dispose you like you're trash, yet you... gave it your all when working for the organisation.  more

  • Request he hire an intern from a college or university. You just said something and you have been doing all the work so why pay you more? You can... have a veteran do the work the government pays for their training period. Stop wearing all the hats. Start looking.  more

  • Hi! I’m sorry to hear about how much workload you’re handling — that sounds really overwhelming. I recently completed a degree in Actuarial Science,... and while I don’t have direct accounting experience yet, I have a strong background in mathematics, data analysis, and financial reporting. I’d be very interested if your company considers bringing someone on board to help.
Please let me know if there’s a way I could apply or support your team.
