Our client is a Steel Manufacturing Company – one of the largest Uganda-based manufacturers and distributors of steel building materials. Madhvani Steel  is looking for a competent and experienced Weigh Bridge and Logistics Officer to be based in Jinja, Uganda

Manage Weighbridge operations in line with the agreed guidelines;
Maintain operational health and safety standards;
Ensure that heavy vehicles comply to the load limits;
Ensure that all the weighing bridge calibrations are up to date;
Screen and weigh vehicles and calculate overloads and implement the procedures for overloaded vehicles;
Issue fines to vehicles that exceed maximums on axles, axle combinations and total vehicle loads;
Prepare and submit daily reports on weighbridge operations and submit to the weighbridge controller.
Operate weigh bridge scale and maintain records of materials weighed.
Verify and reconcile incoming and outgoing loads, monitor compliance to the set standards and report discrepancies of received & dispatched cargo.
Monitor functioning of weighbridge system and report any anomalies, errors or breakdowns to the appropriate teams for support.
Review and compile compliance reports for loads and prepare necessary paperwork for deliveries and collections in line with health, Safety and Environmental SOPs.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.
